12 Countries in 1 Year

On a warm September night in 2014, my friend George and I found ourselves leading a pub crawl through Berlin with a group from our hostel. Our final destination that night was a ping-pong nightclub, however with so many great bars, we couldn’t go straight to the club. Our party included a couple of Australians, an American, a Brazilian, two sisters from England and of course myself and George from Scotland. After (QUITE) a few beers, one of the group said they were jealous of how close I lived to so many different countries. “If I lived in Europe I’d visit a different country every month!” And with that one statement a plan formed. As I had already used most of my holiday allocation for that year, I decided to start from April 2015 and aim to travel to at least 12 countries over the course of 12 months, making a series of short breaks rather than doing it all in one large trip. This blog will map my adventure.
I have decided to start this blog for two reasons. The first is to invite my friends and family on any of my trips. I will be posting my plans as I make them, creating an open invitation for people to accompany me. The second is so I have a log of where I’m going, where I’ve been and what I’ve done. I don’t plan for this to be an in-depth blog of my travels, just a few short paragraphs and some photos to jog my own memory of my adventures.
